That’s 5 of 8. Back at Christmas of ’03.
We found a treasure chest yesterday.
In the form of a photo CD.
Back at Christmas of ’03, 2 of 8 received a little digital camera that had about a half pixel resolution to its name. If memory serves, that little camera worked for about 17 minutes before it kicked off. But before it kicked off, 2 of 8 captured these little scenes.
Which at some point were transferred to a photo CD. Which at some point got stuck in a bunch of books. Which at some point made the move to the island and then to the house in town and then to the new house in 2007.
Where it rested.
Until 2 of 8 was cleaning out some things in her room yesterday.
And found it, like a little treasure chest overflowing with pearls of memories and gold coins of smiles.
She does have pictures of the other kids from that Christmas, but it’s 5 of 8 who dominates this collection. He was 2 1/2 at the time. Quirky. Unintentionally hilarious. Offbeat.
Which hasn’t really changed a lot.
Even though he’s a big ol’ 8 1/2 year old now.
Christmas treasures from 2003. What a sweet, sweet find.
Fleeting scenes, captured on a cheap camera, yielding a priceless harvest.
