Are you feeling overwhelmed by all the things?
And bigger still.
I love it. I really do. I’m right in there, too, burning the midnight oil, making the vision boards, journaling all those goals.
But there’s a problem that I see arising.
And it’s this.
We are losing the profound truth that little things are big things.
The small kindness.
The ‘little’ job that no one else wants to do.
The detail that gets overlooked.
And because we are losing our perspective on the importance of little things, we can unwittingly make the people in our world, and even ourselves, underestimate just how important we are in the bigger story.
That’s why the heartbeat of my newest study, Footnotes, resonates so strongly with me. It’s why I believe it’s going to resonate so strongly with you.
There are names and mentions of people in Scripture that we can go blazing right past. They are just a tiny mention in a sea of huge personalities and achievements. They are just a blip on the radar. But when we take a moment to consider how #littlethingsarebigthings, and when we dig just a bit deeper into their stories, we find legacy and lesson there that continues to echo right into your today.
Sure, dream big. Set those goals. But also find encouragement and peace and surprising inspiration in the lives of people who are essential to the story of our lives, even though they are just a little mention in a big book.
